Hamlet is located on the southern slope of Mount Argopuro Jember, at an altitude of 500 to 1000 meters above sea level (masl). Houses and village roads
are built on a ridge that extends from north to south. Steep ravines flank the
main back of the hamlet, the community calls it Tanian Lanjeng. The majority of
the people of Sumber Candik Hamlet are farmers with coffee as the main
commodity. Apart from coffee, there is corn, rice, and the occasional try to
grow tobacco.
The coffee gardens
here are mostly planted on land owned by Perhutani. Only a small proportion of
them plant their own land. The coffees grown are robusta. Some of the community
coffee plantations that are above 800 meters above sea level are planted with
'Thai coffee'. People on the southern slopes of the Argopuro Mountains call
Arabica coffee Thai coffee.
